The Sheldon Nature Area is a 26 acre outdoor classroom which is adjoined to our Oakwood School Property. Sheldon has 6 eco-systems joined together by 1.2 miles of ADA compliant trails. Amenties in the nature area include shelter with 10 learning stations, an amphitheater, a 20 foot diameter gazebo overlooking the pond, a floating classroom and Boys/Girls composting restrooms.
Sheldon welcomes visitors with it's all native plants and trees. You will find 35 lectern-type signs strategically positioned throughout the nature area displaying the K-5 environmental education benchmarks for each site.
